SWRO for Wash Water

Plutonio module including washwater package

When crude oil is required to be desalted or dehydrated, high quality water is necessary for the processes employed, which is usually referred to as washwater. This washwater must be free of solids or salts because it will be in contact with the crude oil and could introduce contamination which would then require removal downstream. Seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) is the most convenient offshore method of producing this water. The washwater supply is both constant and of a consistent quality with this process.
